Prepare bodies, organise funerals and keep a rather unusual family member fed in this darkly comedic co-op horror game launching on Steam later this month.
Running a family business can be stressful, especially when your customers are grieving, your employees are making questionable decisions, and Grandma is demanding a steady supply of human body parts.
That’s the unusual premise behind Grave Mistakes, an upcoming cooperative horror comedy from developer Happy Volcano and publisher Oro Interactive, launching on Steam on 26 November 2026.
The game puts players in charge of the Good Mourning Funeral Home, where up to four friends must work together to prepare bodies, organise funeral services and maintain the family’s reputation.
Unfortunately, keeping the business profitable is only half the challenge.
A Funeral Home Where Anything Can Go Wrong
At Good Mourning Funeral Home, every day brings new customers expecting a respectful farewell for their loved ones.
Players must accept funeral bookings, prepare the deceased for viewing and ensure everything is ready before grieving families arrive.
That might sound straightforward, but Grave Mistakes takes a considerably less traditional approach to body preparation.
Missing an arm? A shovel might make a convincing replacement. Need a new head? Try attaching a photograph to a basketball and hope nobody looks too closely.
Using physics-based interactions, players can clean, rearrange and replace body parts with whatever suitable objects they manage to find.
The objective is simple: make everything look presentable enough to avoid raising suspicion.
And with bodies gradually deteriorating, there’s only so much time to get things sorted before the next funeral begins.
Grandma Has a Rather Unusual Appetite
As if dealing with unhappy customers wasn’t enough, there’s another family member who needs constant attention.
Hidden away in the basement is Grandma, a monstrous relative with a particularly disturbing appetite.
She requires regular meals made from human body parts, meaning players must discreetly collect ingredients while preparing customers for their final farewell.
It’s a delicate balancing act.
Take too much from the deceased, and their relatives might notice something isn’t quite right. Fail to gather enough food, however, and Grandma could decide that one of the funeral home’s employees looks particularly appetising.
The result is a bizarre combination of workplace management, horror and dark humour, where every funeral presents another opportunity for things to go spectacularly wrong.
Four-Player Co-op and Chaotic Funerals
Grave Mistakes supports online cooperative multiplayer for up to four players, encouraging friends to divide responsibilities and keep the business running.
One player might be preparing bodies while another organises the funeral ceremony. Meanwhile, someone else could be gathering Grandma’s dinner or desperately attempting to hide evidence of the team’s questionable handiwork.
The game also features proximity voice chat, meaning communication becomes increasingly difficult when teammates are scattered throughout the building.
Once everything is ready, players must welcome grieving relatives, deliver eulogies and even play the organ during funeral services.
Naturally, the goal is to make the entire experience appear as professional as possible, even when everything behind the scenes is falling apart.
Upgrade the Business and Keep Customers Happy
Successfully completing funeral services earns money that can be reinvested into the business.
Players can purchase upgrades and improve the funeral home’s facilities, helping the team deal with an increasing number of customers.
However, more business also means additional responsibilities.
As bookings increase, players must find ways to manage their workload without compromising the quality of their services or neglecting Grandma’s increasingly concerning dietary requirements.
The combination of physics-based interactions, task management and unpredictable multiplayer situations looks set to deliver plenty of opportunities for chaotic teamwork.
When Does Grave Mistakes Release?
Grave Mistakes launches on Thursday, 26 November 2026, for PC via Steam.
The game is developed by Belgian indie studio Happy Volcano, known for You Suck at Parking, and published by Oro Interactive.
Players interested in trying the game ahead of launch can currently request access to its playtest through Steam, although participation is subject to developer approval.
With its unusual premise, dark sense of humour and cooperative gameplay, Grave Mistakes could be an entertaining choice for friends who enjoy games where even the simplest tasks can spiral into complete disaster.
Just remember: when Grandma says she’s hungry, it’s probably best not to keep her waiting.
