Outcity Brings Cosy Farming, Villager Automation and Skeleton Raids to Steam This December

The upcoming pixel-art farming sandbox from Titan Games and indie.io combines relaxing countryside life with automated villagers, exploration and a surprising twist on nighttime combat.

Farming simulators are about to get a little more interesting. Outcity, a charming new farming sandbox from Brazilian developer Titan Games, is officially launching on Steam on 10 December 2026, bringing an unusual blend of relaxing agriculture, settlement building and automated villagers to PC.

Published by indie.io, the game takes a familiar farming formula and introduces a clever twist: instead of handling every task yourself, you can recruit villagers to help run your growing homestead.

And when night falls, those same villagers can swap their farming duties for something a little more dangerous.

Build Your Dream Farm from the Ground Up

Outcity begins with a neglected stretch of countryside waiting to be transformed into a thriving settlement.

Players can clear overgrown land, plant crops, manage irrigation and construct buildings while gradually shaping their surroundings into a personalised farming paradise.

Creativity plays an important role, with the freedom to customise terrain, decorate buildings and organise the farm however you choose.

Beyond the fields, there’s a much larger world to discover.

Different biomes contain unique resources, while new regions become accessible as your settlement expands. Players can also explore procedurally generated underground caves in search of valuable materials and rare discoveries.

Those looking for a quieter activity can head to nearby lakes for some fishing, with rare catches waiting to be discovered.

Let Your Villagers Do the Hard Work

What separates Outcity from many traditional farming simulators is its focus on NPC automation.

As your settlement develops, new villagers will arrive and become part of your growing community.

Rather than simply wandering around town, these residents can take on practical jobs to help keep everything running smoothly.

Assigning tasks is straightforward: give a villager a particular tool, and they’ll begin performing the corresponding job.

Whether it’s planting crops, harvesting resources or helping with construction, villagers can gradually take over everyday responsibilities, freeing players to concentrate on expanding and improving their settlement.

Villagers also gain experience as they work, becoming increasingly effective at their assigned responsibilities.

With more than 140 upgrades covering farming, fishing, construction, automation and combat, there’s plenty of room to develop a thriving community.

Even the placement of houses matters. Villagers work more efficiently when they’re close to home, meaning thoughtful settlement planning can make a real difference to productivity.

Peaceful Days, Skeleton-Filled Nights

Despite its cosy appearance, Outcity isn’t entirely free from danger.

As darkness falls, skeletons can emerge and attack your settlement, turning an otherwise peaceful evening into a light-hearted battle for survival.

Fortunately, your villagers aren’t limited to farming.

Equipped residents can help fight off nighttime intruders, protecting the crops and buildings they spent the day maintaining.

According to the developers, these encounters are designed to remain relatively playful rather than turning the experience into a demanding survival game.

It’s an interesting addition to the traditional farming formula, giving players another reason to develop their villagers’ abilities and plan their settlements carefully.

Plenty to Discover Beyond the Farm

Outcity also offers a range of activities beyond agriculture and defending your home.

Players can venture into underground cave networks, uncover valuable resources, discover new regions and spend time fishing in peaceful surroundings.

The game’s progression system connects these activities, encouraging players to explore and improve their equipment as their settlement grows.

Combined with its colourful pixel-art presentation and emphasis on creative freedom, Outcity aims to deliver a farming experience that balances relaxation with meaningful progression.

When Does Outcity Release?

Outcity launches on Thursday, 10 December 2026, for PC via Steam.

Players interested in experiencing the game before release can download a free demo on Steam, offering an early look at its farming, exploration and automation systems.

The game is also available to wishlist ahead of launch.

With automated villagers, an expansive upgrade system and some unexpected nighttime visitors, Outcity could be worth keeping an eye on for fans of cosy farming and settlement-building games.
